Finishing Off Old Projects

Have you ever had the chance to grab some free time and finish something you started a long time ago? Well, it appears I've finally hit that point in my daily activities, where I can do a side project of my own and finish something.

The finishing of a project that I've started is something I really really really look forward to. It's just the sense of self accomplishment that makes me feel so darn good. So, now that I have some time I'm going to finish that Tee Shirt site that I was so excited about before.

One thing that I always start out with is the same kind of template for content that's meant to be sequenced. Meaning if it's blog style, I like to use a css framework and work from there. The framework that I use is called Emastic. This approach allows me to start with something known and change it as my needs change.

After that I start deciding on a color theme and more detailed style. Right now it's the standard black and grey, which for this site isn't going to work. I would also like to create a really cool background image that grabs a persons attention. Both of these requirements are pieces that can take a significant amount of time to come up with on your own.

For me the logical first place to start is with color. Typically it's easier to get some inspiration when you have something to look at. Luckily for us there is someplace to go and gain that much needed color layout. COLOURlovers is the place to go to see color combinations that may just be exactly what your looking for.

I'm going to start with some light blues and go from there.
