Beginnings of a T-Shirt Nut

Anyone who knows me, knows that I like T-Shirts. One of the reasons I like T-Shirts so much is because I have a fully functioning printing business to facilitate my need for new and interesting styles to wear. One of the reasons I started a printing business was because I could never find the style/size/design that I wanted. This is the same reason that I started using Django to create my websites, I just couldn't find a product that did everything I wanted.

So, as I've mentioned before I wanted to create a new site that I can discuss T-Shirts and in those cases where I've created something, possibly sell them. The difference here is that it's got to be different than the tons of other Tee sites that are out there.

Here's what I want the new site to be like......

Before we get into the technical details of how the site will be built and operate, I think it's important to map out what exactly the goal of the site is. I do this with all of my customers, so why wouldn't I offer myself the same method for success.

Site Goals:

• Style has to be "trendy" and different
• Features should include a Blog and a Store
• Integrate well with Paypal and Google Checkout
• Allow for user feedback
• Have the ability to vote on things
• Easy navigation
• Cross selling (suggest other products)
• Newsletter signup
• "Tell A Friend" Feature
• Integrate with video
• Proper Ad placement
• Search Engine Friendly
• Images of shirts worn by customers or shirts seen in the wild

That's a pretty good list of features, at least to start with. At this point, the main decision is how the site is going to look and how will I get store items and blog content to live nicely together on the same page.
