Technorati No Worky For Me

Yesterday I spent a large amount of time trying to get Technorati to notice this blog. As it turns out, as you can see on the right, that I wasn't so successful. I thought to myself, why not try to "Claim" my blog with technorati, I've done it with all my other blogs, and it was fairly straight forward and easy. If I remember right, all I needed to do was add their code in a post, and then release the technorati spider to find it. Well, for some reason I could never find the spot where the claim code was given to me, hence the reason the spider can't look at my site.

But as I kept investigating, there is another way to get your blog noticed by technorati, and that's to ping their service.

Since I'm using my own CMS, I needed to use the XML-RPC protocol to ping the service after I save a post and it's live. I have the ability to save things as a draft and I sure don't want to send something before it's finished. So I hooked up the pinging piece and tried to see if Technorati would notice me then. Still no luck.

I then reverted to the next best solution: Google. Yup I googled the heck out of my problem and have come to find that I'm not the only one suffering from the Technorati disease. It seems as though the site is starting to lack control and support, and I can attest to that.

So it appears that I won't be too worried about getting listed with Technorati. For some reason I can't generate a "Claim Code", nor am I able to find any good information on their website to fix the problem. I guess I'll be sticking with ping-o-matic in order to spread the word about my blog.
